Hi we are travelling to/in Switzerland from 10 – 19 September

Arriving in Zurich heading down to Bern for 2 days, then spending a week in Oberland based in wengen and making day trips to Schilthorn/Grindelwald/Brienz/Meiringen before continuing onto Lucerne for another 2 days then returning back to Zurich to fly back to Singapore.

With such an itinerary, does it make most sense to buy a Swiss travel pass or Just the Regional Oberland Pass?

In terms of attractions, do the 2 passes entitle the holder to similar discounts?

    We intend to

Visit places like Ballenberg open air museum, Aare Gorge, Reichenbach Falls, Schilthorn, Lake Bachalpsee, Mt Titlis.

    Would appreciate advice soonest. Thanks!!

    Welcome to MySwissAlps, Huilin!

Both options would work. The Regional-Pass Bernese Oberland provides great coverage for your week in Wengen. Depending on your exact plans for your days in Bern it might be convenient there too. However, if you focus on the city itself and only need public transportation, the free Bern Ticket that’s issued by your hotel will probably suffice. The Regional-Pass doesn’t include day trips from Lucerne, but here’s a combination that might work:

    • the free Bern Ticket for your first couple of days in Bern
    • a Regional-Pass Bernese Oberland for your stay in Wengen
    • plus an additional 2 day Tell Pass for Lucerne.

If you feel this is too complicated, an 8 day Swiss Travel Pass plus regular tickets for your first and last day (Zurich Airport-Bern and Lucerne-Zurich Airport) is a convenient and very flexible alternative.

    Please compare validity through:

In addition to the pages mentioned above: the Ballenberg Open Air Museum would be discounted by 25% with a Regional-Pass Bernese Oberland, but for free with a Swiss Travel Pass.

Explanation on how to calculate which pass suits your plans best can be found at http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/ticketspasses/prac tical/chooserailpass.

    Does this get you started?
