The Furka steam train operates again

    Hi everyone,

    As of today, the steam train across the Furka pass operates for the summer again (until October 8). This unique railroad from Oberwald to Realp was used by the famous Glacier Express until 1981, but then replaced by a tunnel. As of 2010 a steam train operates on this route, in summer only. Unfortunately the Swiss Travel Pass is not valid here. Children up to 15 travel for free.
