    Hi Friends,

I will be traveling in few days to Lucerne.

At what should I start my day trip so that I could have optimal lighting (sunshine) on reaching my destination for

    1. Day trip from Lucerne to Mt. Riga,

    2. Day trip from Lucerne to Mt. Titlis.

    3. At what time should I start my day trip from Lucerne to Montreaux castle (using Golden Pass route), so that I enjoy scenery on the way and have little time for castle.

    Hi Sandy123,

There will be sunglight roughly between 8 am and 5:30 pm, so that’s the best time for traveling if you want to enjoy the scenery along the way. Valleys may still be overcast by shadows early in the morning though, so if you want to avoid that, you could leave a bit later, especially for the day trips to Rigi and Titlis. Also, check local weather forecasts shortly before leaving to decide the best time of the day for a visit.

I’d leave early for the ride to Montreux anyway, as that will be a long day trip.

    Hi Sandy-

In addition to Annika’s response, you can use the timetable to study travel times.

The combination should work well for your needs.
