I am travelling from Zurich Airport to Wengen in a couple of weeks time for a holiday with my wife and two children (12 & 14) and then undertaking the same journey back one week later. Should I simply buy tickets for the journey at the station and then again when we return or is there a pass or something that would be better. I already have Ski passes etc. for the region. Hi Antony and Welcome to MySwissAlps!

If you are only travelling by train on those 2 instances, and simply staying in Wengen and skiing only, then I think a Swiss rail pass would not be worth it for you. Simply buy your tickets at each station to and from Wengen.

However, If you are planning on doing any other train trips, take a look at our how to choose the best Swiss Rail pass. It will help you decide if and what pass may be best for you.

Actually, I should have also mentioned using the Swiss Transfer Ticket in addition to the Swiss Family Card to include the children for free.

My apologies, this should work best for you in this case!

Hello…my name is lilik and I would like visit switzerland on june . There’ll be 5 of us myself, my hubby, 17 years old son, 14 years old daughter and 12 years old daughter. We plan to start our trip from st. Moritz for 2 days and continue to lugano…from lugano we’ll go to italy and france and back again to explore switzerland about 5/6 days. Do you think swiss flexy pass suitable for us? Are there free family cards for my daughter since both of them under 16 years old?
