I plan to travel through Swissland with my daughter(8) in July with the Swiss Pass. Can you please help me with the following questions:

    1) Is it true that no fee wil be charged for foreign exchange (Euro to CHF) at both banks and SBB exchange office?

    2) Must I reserve a seat for my daughter for Glacier Express or it’s allowed to share one seat?

3)Does the Swiss Pass cover the part from Le Châtelard VS to Mont Blanc?

4)If there is no Platform number given on the SBB Online Timetable, does it mean there is only one platform at that place? For example: from Brig to Chur, by Andermatt.

    Thank you in advance!

    Hi Diana,

    1) I have not heard about that. Usually you’d pay for the service, either through a fee or a they’ll use a slightly lower exchange rate.

    2) Yes, it’s required to have seat reservations for all travelers, including children.

    3) The train to Chamonix is covered. The cable car to the Mont Blanc is not covered. A map showing what’s included can be downloaded from the Swiss Pass page.

    4) If there’s no platform number that usually means the station is small. Either way it will be clear once you’re there. Andermatt has two platforms I think. Displays on the platform show departure time and destination of the train.

    Does this help you out?
