    Hello there,

I am visiting Dusseldorf on a business trip in Sept 2016. I plan to go on a small vacation with my wife & 8 yr old daughter to Switzerland & Paris which would be before I get back to work in Dusseldorf. As our flights would be booked to & from Dusseldorf back to India, do you suggest would be better & cheaper option.

    1) Traveling from Dusseldorf to Paris. Paris to Zurich/Interlaken & then back to Dusseldorf

    2) Traveling from Dusseldorf to Zurich/Interlaken..Zurich/Interlaken to Paris & then to Dusseldorf

    Hi plaxoprints! Welcome to MySwissAlps.

In terms of price and planning, it doesn’t matter at all whether you do Paris or Switzerland first. In the end you’ll spend the same amount on train tickets from and to Düsseldorf and between Paris and Switzerland. Our pages on rail tickets for France-Switzerland and Germany-Switzerland may be of help. For your stay in Switzerland, a rail pass could help, but that depends on your exact plans. Please refer to this page.

I’m not sure if you’ve decided on Zurich or Interlaken yet. If not, Interlaken or a nearby town might be more interesting as it’s a lot closer to the Alps than Zurich.
