i want to thank Arno and Annika for all their help in making our 4 days in the Bernese Oberland from September 9 to 12 such a memorable experience. We were based in Wengen and purchased the Jungfrau 3 Day Pass. We figured we saved about 200 CHF with the pass. Here is the day by day breakdown of our trip. We were blessed with wonderful weather and were lucky to be able to see the peaks of the Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau. Kim’s document was also very useful. Thank you again to MySwissAlps and Arno and Annika for the invaluable information.

Day 1 – Drove from Innsbruck to Lauterbrunnen via Arlberg Pass which was beautiful. Parked the car at Lauterbrunnen train station and took the train to Wengen.

Day 2 – took the early train to Jungfraujoch. We were not too badly affected by the altitude. Just walk slowly. The views are spectacular. We saw people hiking on the Aletsch Glacier. Dress in layers! In the afternoon, we took the train to Wilderswil and the cog wheel train to Schynige Platte. The Alpine Garden is fascinating and the views of the Eiger amazing. The last train back is at 5:40.

Day 3 – took the cable car from Wengen to Mannlichen and hiked to Kleine Scheidegg. We stopped many times to enjoy the views. So it took us about two and a half hours. This is an easy hike and you feel you can touch the peaks. We took the train from Kleine Scheidegg to Grindelwald, browsed the stores and then took the train back to Kleine Scheidegg and on to Wengen.

Day 4 – took the train to Lauterbrunnen, the cable car to Grutschalp, and the train to Murren. Walked through the town, then took the cable car to the Piz Gloria restaurant at the top of the Schilthorn. It was a clear day and we could see Mont Blanc! Had coffee at the restaurant then returned to Murren. Took the cable car to Gimmelwald, had lunch, then returned to Murren and Lauterbrunnen. Gimmelwald is so peaceful. I loved seeing the parasailers. Took the post bus to Trummelbach Falls. What an awe-inspiring sight! Just be prepared for a lot of stairs.

All the the trips were included in the Jungfrau Pass except for cable car from Murren to Schilthorn, Murren to Gimmelwald and post bus from Lauterbrunnen to Trummelbach Falks. The cable car from Wengen to Mannlichen was 50% off.
