I am traveling from Milan to St Moritz via Tirano in July. I am hoping to catch the Bernina Express in Tirano. My Swiss pass (15 days) start date is arrival date in Tirano. Can I validate my Swiss pass in Tirano (Italy) and use it for the Bernina Express? I am traveling on Saturday 8th July.

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Graeme

Hi Graeme and welcome to MySwissAlps!

Pass validation is no longer required in nearly all cases for the Swiss Travel Pass. The start date and all other detail should be printed on it, or if needed can be filled out by you.

Take a look here on how to use the Swiss Travel Pass. If you happen to have a pass that still needs validation by railway staff can do do that at the Swiss station in Tirano.

    Good day Lucas…

    Thank you for your assistance.

I feel much better now that I have confirmation of the validation of the Swiss Pass. I look forward to reading about your amazing country on the web site and all the valuable information therein. I will make notes of our trip centered around Lauterbrunnen and all the train trips in July and post them. Can’t wait.

To you and all your assistants on the website, thank you for your time and assistance.

We are happy to help Wxwise2!

If you have further questions don’t hesitate to make another post!

PS I’m actually Canadian 😉 check out Canada someday too. It will impress except when compared to the Swiss train system. haha
