    Hi,

    I am visiting Lucerne at the end of May and would like to understand more on what I can use the Swiss Travel Pass for. I have worked out the transport I will be using and was hoping somebody could advise me if;

    1. The swiss travel pass will include all the trips I want to do, and;

    2. What travel pass do I need to purchase and how much will it be?

    Journeys I plan to do:

    Zurich Airport to Lucerne (return ticket required)

    Mount Pilatus Trip from Lucerne (boat, gondola, cable car and cog rail train)

    Thermal Spa at Mount Rigi Trip from Lucerne (from my understanding I will need to get a boat to Vitznau and then a train to Rigi Katbald – return required)

    Any advice would be much appreciated as I am finding it difficult to work out exactly what the travel pass will cover.

    Thanks v much.

    Hi ekakoulli and welcome to MySwissAlps!

    The Swiss Travel Pass will indeed cover all those trips for you. Click here to see exactly what is covered or not by the Swiss Travel Pass.

    The Swiss Travel Pass can be bought here (buy online and print at home is the easiest option) for 3, 4, 8 or 15 days.

    I added links to your post – click on them to find more details on the towns and mountains (tickets, how to get there, where to stay etc.)

    Let us know if you have further questions!

    Hi Lucas,

    Thank you so much for your helpful response.

    Can you tell me the difference between the travel passes available on the link you sent through please?

    I found one for £150 (3 days, 2nd class, under 26) http://www.swisstravelsystem. co.uk/en/products/swisspass

    and then I also found another one (which seems exactly the same) for £185 http://www.swissrailways.com/en/products/swisspass

    Do you know why they are different in price?

    Many thanks,

    Ellie

    Hi Ellie,

    I can’t trace a GBP 185 pass that would be similar to the GBP 150 3 day STP Youth. Where exactly in the swissrailways price overview do you see this amount?

    Yes, it’s very simple 😉

    The price @ 150 is in Pounds Sterling

    The price @ 185 is in Swiss Francs
