Hello – We are not traveling until the end of June, but I see that some of the rail/bus trips we would like to do require a reserved seat. We have the 15 day STP Flex. How far out would be the recommended time to reserve a seat? Is now too early? Or when would be considered too late? Trips with reservations needed include portions of BEX, Palm Express, bus from Grindlewald to Meiringen and from Meiringen to Goschenen. Thanks for your expertise…we really appreciate it.

    Hi OHGeologist,

I’d recommend to reserve as soon as you are sure about your travel date and time. In some cases it might not work if your travel date is more than 3-4 months out, so in that case you need to do it later. In practice it often works to book just a few days ahead of time, but there is a risk to this in case of popular trains like the Bernina Express.

    You’ve planned some wonderful trips!
