    Hi there.

Yes photo 8ADJ is indeed Coire (Chur) in the Grisons, looking pretty well north. If you were to go there today and take your photo from the same spot, you would see a good number of taller buildings, and off to the right, almost around the corner, the top of a huge wind power tower, owned by a firm called calandawind.ch, just beside the Rhine. http://www.calandawind.ch/

Are the labels you have given to your photos in sequence ? In other words would 8, 9, 10, 11 and 12 be in the exact order that your trip was progressing ? If so, that might make it easier to identify them.

Sadly, as i did not know where the places were i could not put them in order.

    NOW i remember chur!

anyway i travelled from the UK to Belgium, Luxembourg, France (Alsace?) then Switzerland. i visited chur, and the place with an old old bridge with pictures painted all the way along, (maybe chur was before that) AHA i remembered the town LUCERN! then i headed for venice – silvaplatz

    thanks for all your help

PS it was 51 years ago!

Are these diapositives (slides) or prints ? If they are the latter, there are numbers printed on the cardboard or plastic slide holder that would allow you to put them in order. If they are prints and you still have the negatives, then again you could figure out the correct order. If neither of the above, then that’s too bad. I suspect that one of your photos is the Pilatus which is near Lucerne but I will double-check when I have a bit more time.

    Grüetzi Peterli –

<<” I suspect that one of your photos is the Pilatus which is near Lucerne but I will double-check when I have a bit more time.”>>

    Which one?

    #7 or #11?

If so, i am not familiar with that angle.

    Hej !

Too bad anon125 can’t give us more details on the route he took while in Switzerland. That would help to eliminate some places. If there hadn’t been so much cloud covering a good part of image 11 we might be able to have a better shot at identifying it. If he was in the Alsace before getting to Switzerland, he probably entered at Bâle, and Lucerne would probably have preceded Coire. If he meant Silvaplana instead of Silvaplatz, that would probably follow Coire and from there he could have made his way to Italy and Venise. I am definitely not sure that Pilatus is in any of the photos; I just mentioned it because we know that anon125 was in Lucerne.

    Adieu !
