We are 8 adults and 8 children and have got cars for visiting places. However on tickets there is a discount on rail passes. Need suggestion on which pass we should buy. Staying in lucerne and doing the following:

    Mt pilatus

    Mt, Titlis

    Zermatt

Interlaken and Boat ride on Thun

Should we buy a simple 50% discount card, and are kids free if we buy that card.

Also we would need a train ride from Lucerne to Zurich also one way.

    Hi vireshmarda,

Swiss Half Fare Cards for the adults will probably work best. Children will indeed travel along for free if you order free Swiss Family Cards. You’d best do so through http://www.swissrailways.com/ en and fill out the required number of adults and children. Tick the “Family Card” box when entering the children’s data. Once you’ve filled out your address, you get to choose from several delivery options. If you pick the “Online ticket” option you’ll receive print at home passes through e-mail, which is the easiest solution that doesn’t involve any handling or shipping costs.

If you want to calculate which option is best, please refer to the link Arno provided in your previous topic.

    HI,

Thanks for you message. Does the Swiss family card option also come in the Half fare Card option? Or are these separate.

    regards

    Viresh

    Hi Viresh,

I’m afraid I don’t understand your question. If you just follow the steps as described in my previous answer, it should all be fine and you’ll receive both digital Swiss Half Fare Cards and digital Swiss Family Cards. You can’t order a separate Swiss Family Card, if that’s what you mean.
