Hi ramya, thanks for getting back to us! Good to hear you enjoyed your trip to Switzerland. You’re very welcome to tell a bit more about your experiences, if you like. Did you end up visiting the Rhine Falls, for example? And were you able to visit Titlis and Jungfraujoch in clear skies? I hope so!

    Hi annika,

I kept my itinerary pretty much the same. Visited Rhine falls after landing. In the noon went for pilatus excursion. Next day, did both titlis and rigi. Weather was excellent. So we started off pretty early. In interlaken, we had booked for hanggliding. And the last day went for Jungfraujoch excursion. So, finally had an awesome time.

    Thanks, ramya

    Hi ramya,

Thanks for letting us know. Great that you got to visit all attractions and viewing points on your list, in perfect weather conditions. If you’ll indeed be returning to Switzerland once more, you’re welcome to share your plans here again.

We spent a week in Switzerland in early December a couple of years ago, and just avoiding restaurant food saved us a ton of money. We rented an apartment, cooked there, and made Basel our headquarters. Since we had a Eurail pass that we used to travel in Germany and Austria as well as Switzerland, the average cost of transportation was much less. We flew into and out of Frankfurt, using our train pass to get us to and from the Frankfurt airport. The Christmas markets and beautiful scenery were all the entertainment we needed, and we were delighted that our rail pass covered some of the most scenic railway journeys in Switzerland. Some comapny also provide cheap tour packages. They are also very good.

    Hi Priyadarshee,

Please don’t post e-mail addresses here (see the forum rules). It’s a public forum and you risk receiving spam if you post your e-mail address in any public place. I removed your address for safety reasons.

You can of course ask questions here and discuss your plans. If you want others to be involved too you can best open a new thread.

    Thanks!

    Hi Arno & Annika:

Thanks for your suggestions. We are actually planning to see the following at Switzerland. After looking into all suggestions, bit confused about the travel pass to use and the base to stay. List of interested places are Mt. Titlis, Jungfraujoch, Rhine falls, Schilthorn. Please suggest if i am missing anything worthy. We want to enjoy the beauty of switzerland. We will stay for 4 or 5 nights at switzerland

    Hi amitkakali!

Thanks for sharing your plans. We’re happy to help you out with your base town(s) and the right travel pass, but would you mind opening a new topic for your questions first? Your questions aren’t closely related to ramya’s original topic anymore, and separate topics for separate issues help us and other readers to keep the forum clear. You can do so by clicking “Post a new thread” in the rail forum.

Meanwhile, you can start exploring rail passes here and make some draft calculations as explained here. This may help you narrow down your options.

    Thank you :-)!
