For the train ride from Zermatt to Matterhorn, a check at SBB’s website revealed that there is train that departs every minute and they have the same number of changes/transit (see attached). ARe they all the same? Do we need to get down the train at each transit? Appreciate advice and tips how do we go about? We would also like to stop by at Riffelsee along the way.

For the above train ride as well as for the train from Zermatt to Gornergrat, presumably the Swiss Half Fare card is applicable for the 50% discount.

Additionally, is the Peak to Peak pass offer at the http://www.gornergratbahn website takes us all the way to the desired spot at Matterhorn Glacier Paradise and Gornergrat? or we have to get additional tickets to get up there? Many thanks.

    Hi Judy,

You can’t take a train from Zermatt to the Matterhorn – You mean Klein Matterhorn (nothing is attached on your post by the way) and it is a gondola not a train, that’s why the departures are listed every minute. 🙂

You can get off at Rotenboden and take the hiking trail to Riffelsee.

Yes you get 50% off with with Swiss Half fare Card – click here to where it covers for all of Switzerland) to Klein Matterhorn and Gornergrat.

The Peak pass only works out cheaper if you are planning multiple trips – see here.
