Introduction

The Diemtigtal is a narrow side-valley of the Simmental valley. You will mainly walk through the forests of this quiet valley.

Transportation to Riedli

The railway station of Oey-Diemtigen can be reached by car or by train from Spiez or Zweisimmen. Take the bus to Grimmialp from there. You need to get off at the bus stop Riedli, near the valley station of the chair lift to the Wiriehorn. Will you be traveling to and from hiking areas frequently? A Swiss Pass or one of the other passes grants easy access to the entire Swiss Travel System (trains, buses, boats and mountain transportation).

Route description

Follow the main road for about 300 m (1000 ft) and then use the footpath at the left side of the road. For the rest, you only need to follow the signs to Oey.

Take the train from Oey (refer to above).
