IntroductionThis short route along the southern slopes of the eastern Rhône valley mainly crosses meadows. Meanwhile, you will have a nice view of the village of Betten on the opposite side of the valley. At the end of this hike there’s a sight at Mörel, where your trip ends. You will moreover cross the lower part of the Gifrischgrabe, a crevice draining off the water from the mountains surrounding the Bättlihorn. Route descriptionFrom the railway station of Grengiols, follow the motorway upwards to the village. Sometimes you can use small footpaths, cutting of the wider bends of the road. In the village, approximately 50 m (160 ft) before the church, turn right to Mörel. About 1,5 km (1 mile) outside of the vilage you will leave this quiet, narrow asphalt road and take the path running straight on. Further on you will reach an asphalt road again, which you keep following for about 1 km (0.6 miles). Then turn into the path that runs down to the right, heading for Mörel. After a short descent, take the asphalt road running along the camping site and crossing the river Rhône. Turn left through the main road to the railway station, situated about 500 m further on.
