IntroductionThis short hike leads you up to a hill, covered with grasslands and a small conifer forest. You will have a unique view of the western part of the Jungrau region. Eiger, Mönch, Jungfrau, Tsingelhorn, Schilthorn, Grütschalp, Isenfluh, Interlaken, Schynige Platte, Harder Kulm, Wengen and Männlichen can all be seen from here. The grasslands are also used as a meadow, so you may encounter some cattle. Although this hike is very short, good footgear is recommended. Transportation to WengernalpWengernalp can only be reached by train from Kleine Scheidegg/Grindelwald and from Wengen/Lauterbrunnen. Motorists can park their car in Grindelwald Grund or Lauterbrunnen, and continue by train from there. Route descriptionFrom the Wengernalp railway station, walk in the direction of Allmend/Lauterbrunnen. About 50 m (160 ft) after the railway station, turn left under the railway to Wickibort/Wengen, then immediately turn right. After about 150 m (500 ft), walk into the grasslands on your left and up the hill. There is no recognizable path over here, but the hill’s top can be reached easily. Take the same route back to the railway station. Do you have any questions or remarks?Do you have questions about this trail or would you like suggestions for other trails in the Bernese Oberland?
