Introduction

The end of this route is the Tschingelsee: A lake which is surrounded by forests, waterfalls and impressive rock walls. The path to the lake runs parallel to the river the Gornerewasser, through fresh forests and meadows. You will regularly have a view at the Blüemlisalp at the end of the valley. You can also extend this hike by walking up to Griesalp through the ‘Wildwasserweg’.

Transportation to Kiental

The hike’s start- and ending point is the parking lot situated near the valley station of the gondola to Ramslauenen, just outside the village of Kiental. From the bus stop in Kiental, the parking lot can be reached by an 8 minute walk. If you are using public transport you will travel by train to Reichenbach im Kandertal, and then get on the bus to Kiental. Will you be traveling to and from hiking areas frequently? A Swiss Pass or one of the other passes grants easy access to the entire Swiss Travel System (trains, buses, boats and mountain transportation).

Route description

From the parking lot, follow the signs to ‘Griesalp (Talweg)’ and, at the end of the route, to the Tschingelsee. At the lake you will turn to the left, crossing the bridge, and walk a bit further on along the bank of the lake. Take the same route back.
