Introduction

The route to Grindelwald Grund consists of a short climb, followed by a descent throught quiet roads, along meadows and chalets. On your way to Grindelwald Grund, you will have views of the Wetterhorn, Schreckhorn, Eiger and the Oberer Grindelwald glacier. This route is part of the longer route Lütschental – Grindelwald Grund.

Transportation to Schwendi

Schwendi can be reached by train from Interlaken or Grindelwald. Will you be traveling to and from hiking areas frequently? A Swiss Pass or one of the other passes grants easy access to the entire Swiss Travel System (trains, buses, boats and mountain transportation).

Route description

Cross the bridge and then follow the signs to Grindelwald Grund. Just before Grindelwald, follow the signs ‘Männlichenbahn’ until you reach the Grindelwald Grund railway station.

From Grindelwald Grund, you can travel to Grindelwald/Interlaken or Kleine Scheidegg by train.
