IntroductionAt the Hahnenmoos pass, you will have a view of some mountains belonging to the canton of Wallis and of the Glacier de la Plaine Morte. Along the base of the Regenboldshorn, you will walk to the high valley of Lurnig, where your sight will reach as far as the Niederhorn across the Thunersee, situated about 35 km (22 miles) further on. You will then pass the 700 m (2,300 ft) impressive rock walls of the Rotstock. After Lurnig, you will moreover be able to look down on the waterfall of the Bütschi Bach. You will then cross the tree line and reach the ending point of Bergläger through conifer forests and meadows. Transportation to HahnenmoospassFrom Frutigen, you can travel to Adelboden by bus or by car. From Adelboden a bus will lead you up to Geils. Here you will get on the gondola to the Hahnenmoos pass. Will you be traveling to and from hiking areas frequently? A Swiss Pass or one of the other passes grants easy access to the entire Swiss Travel System (trains, buses, boats and mountain transportation). Route descriptionFrom the Hahnenmoos pass, follow the direction of the Regenboldshorn. Further on, follow the signs pointing to Bütschi. When you have arrived at Luegli, take the shortest road to Bütschi through the path on the right. From Bütschi, start heading for Bergläger. Follow the direction of Adelboden (you will have to cross the motorway) until you reach the gondola station of Bergläger. Transportation from BerglägerFrom Bergläger, take the gondola or bus back to Adelboden. From Adelboden you can travel further by car or by bus to the railway station of Frutigen.
