About this trail

The town of Zermatt is car-free and can only be reached by cogwheel train from Täsch. This trail will follow the train route closely. The path mainly crosses forests and fields.

How to travel to Täsch and from Zermatt

Täsch can be reached by train from Brig/Visp or from Zermatt. There is a large parking facility next to the railway station. From Zermatt, you can take the train back to Täsch and beyond.

The hiking route

Follow the signs to Zermatt. Walk straight ahead from the railway station in Täsch and turn right at the intersection. Then turn right to cross the railway and the river of Mattervispa. Then turn left and follow the railroad to Zermatt.
