Hi Jason,
You can plan this trip with the SBB timetable.
https://www.myswissalps.com/travel/public-transport/timetable/
Titisee-Neustadt is the name of the municipality. You probably want to go to either Titisee station or Neustadt station.
For your destination, specify either Titisee or Neustadt (Schwarzw). (Schwarzw is short for Schwarzwald, i.e. the Black Forest.)
If your Swiss Travel Pass Flex (https://www.myswissalps.com/travel-ticket/swiss-travel-pass-flex/) is activated for this day, it will cover you as far as the last stop on the Swiss side of the border. Which stop that is will vary depending on which route you take. You will need to buy a ticket for the rest of the trip, and can do that on the SBB website or at a railway station before boarding the train in Zürich.
How does Basel fit into your plan to visit the Titisee area? Just going to Titisee alone will take the best part of 3 hours travel time each way.
Hope this helps!

Hi Jason.
Like Alpenrose, I think you may have underestimated the distance involved. (Your proposed trip to Chamonix was just a logical extention of your trip from Martigny.) This trip is of a totally different magnitude. However, I suspect that you are (like me) a public tranport enthusiast enthusiast, and that you want to ride on the steeply graded Hollental Bahn. A possible round trip would be Basel Badischer-Freiburg-Titisee-Donaueschingen-Singen-Konstanz. (Or the other way round.) The STP is valid to Basel Badischer and Konstanz, and to Thayngen.
For times of trains, go to the DB (German Railways) website. As to fares, stay on that website and search for ‘Baden-Wurttemberg Ticket’. This is particularly attractive if there is more than one person in your group. But stress that while this ‘ticket’ is valid on all LOCAL trains, trams and buses in BW, it is (usually) not valid on IC, EC or ICE trains. (Contrast the STP.)
Best wishes

Thank you so much for your feedback. I wonder if I can do a day trip to Rhine Fall and Kuckucksuhr/ Cuckoo Clock (Titisee-Neustadt) from Zurich instead?
- If I start my daytirp like 6:30 am from Zurich to SchaffHausen, and then to Kuckucksuhr/ Cuckoo Clock by 10:00 or 11:00 am
- Spend a couple of hours in Kuckucksuhr/ Cuckoo Clock town
- Around 1 to 1:30 pm Travel back to SchaffHausen by 4:00 ish
- Spend a couple hours at Rhine fall
- between 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, return from Rhine fall to Zurich
Or I am better off to spend a day at Rhine fall (is there a lot of sight seesing to do at Rhine fall)?
Thanks,
Jason

I am now very puzzled. You use the the term ‘Cuckoo Clock Town’. Do you mean Titisee or Neustadt (Schwarzwald) or where? (Titisee and Neustadt are separate towns.) The term ‘Cuckoo Clock Town’ could apply to any small medieval town in the GERMAN-SPEAKING part of Europe. There are lots of those!
That said, if what you are looking for is a small beautiful medieval town to combine with a visit to the the Rhine falls, banish any thoughts of going into the Black Forest. Go to Stein am Rhein. 30 minutes from Schaffhausen; train every 30 minutes; In Switzerland so the STP is valid.
The Rhine falls are spectacular. Go early to avoid the crowds. Get there from Zurich via Winterthur. When you have had your fill of rushing water (probably about lunch time), go on to Stein am Rhein. Finally return to Zurich via Winterthur..

Hi Jason,
Yes, I think it is possible to combine a trip from Zurich to Titisee and Rhine Falls in one day. A single journey from Zurich to Titisee could take about 3 hours as pointed out by Alpenrose, so catching an early morning connection is definitely a good idea.
You can find information on how to purchase your tickets for travel from Switzerland into Germany here: https://www.myswissalps.com/travel-guide/germany-switzerland/
With a Swiss Travel Pass Flex, you can travel for free up to the Swiss border.
You can find information about Rhine Falls here: https://www.myswissalps.com/activity/rhine-falls/

Roger,
Sorry, I did not know any better. I saw a Viator tour mention on its trip description as ‘Cuckoo Clock Town’. Thank you for your suggestion to visit Stein am Rhein, I think it is a great ideas.
Thanks again to you and Anna for the feedbacks.

Hi Jason,
I think half a day for the Rhine Falls is sufficient, then yes, you could head to Stein Am Rhein afterwards. It’s a very pretty there and if you like castles and history, Hohenklingen Castle is located here too.
Have a great trip.
Kind regards,
Yolanda
