    Hi everyone

We have 2 full days and 2 half days in Grindelwald, we’ll be driving in from Zermatt.
we want to do the following but trying to figure out the best order to do them in, which ones would u suggest to do in the half day (when we drive up from Zermatt n reach around noon) & half day (driving out from Zermatt to lucerne) & 2 full days

    1. Schilthorn – murren

    2. Wengen- Männlichen

    3. Grindelwald first then hike to bachsee lake (for this we’ve kept full day from early morning)

    4. Pfingstegg toboggan

    5. Staubbach Falls/Trümmelbach Falls

We don’t want to be in a rush so if something is not worth doing, we wouldn’t mind skipping it.
don’t want to do Jungfraujoch since I’m claustrophobic so don’t want to do the tunnel train. And we’re doing gornergrat in Zermatt already

    Thankyou so much 🙂

Trips 4 and  5 look half day trips.  But note that the bottom station for the cablecar up to Murren and Schilthorn is relatively close to the wanterfalls.

    Thanks so much 😊

Do you think we could do Grindelwald first hike to bachsee lake ( early morning) & Wengen- Männlichen on the same day, as we only have 2 full days & we’ve kept one full day for schilthorn/murren.

We’ll keep the half days for

Pfingstegg toboggan & Staubbach Falls/Trümmelbach Falls

We have a car so driving around to the places isn’t an issue.

    thankyou 😊

I am not really an expert on hiking, but combining First/Bachalpsee with Mannlichen/Wengen strikes me as rather demanding.  I WONDER WHAT OTHER PEOPLE THINK.

I wonder what other people think. But I would:

Give Wengen Mannlichen a full day; add the waterfalls to your day up the Schilthorn; do the First/Bachalpsee hike on your last morning in Grindelwald.  Where are you driving to from Grindelwald?  The drive to Lucerne is not as long timewise as the drive to Tasch (for Zermatt).   What day of the week will it be?  Weekends MAY be busier than mid-week!  Again, WHAT DO OTHER PEOPLE THINK?

I do not drive.  One of the reasons I go to Switzerland so often is the superb public transport and the unique Swiss Travel Pass (https://www.myswissalps.com/travel-ticket/swiss-travel-pass/)  (Where are you from?  I am British, resident in Nottingham.)

    Kind Regards

    Roger

    That’s a great idea, Thankyou 😊

    we’re driving from

grindelwald to Lucerne so yes it’s not a very long drive.

    so we’ll do

    1. wengen/mannlichen full day

    2. waterfalls, Murren, schilthorn one day

    3. First/Bachalpsee hike In the morning, and afternoon we can drive out from grindelwald

    thanks so much 😊

    Hi Nayome,

In addition to Roger’s helpful replies.

For your visit to Wengen and Männlichen, depending on your plans there, I think half a day would be sufficient.  Wengen is not huge, it serves more as a base to visit the area.  Of course once at Männlichen, if you considering a hike or walk, additional time will be necessary.  Take a look at the links below for more information:

So if you fancied a day of hiking, you could combine this with the hike from Grindelwald First to Bachsee as well.  Just check the weather forecast  so you know it will be favourable and you can enjoy the beautiful scenery 🙂

Details for this hike here: https://www.myswissalps.com/blog/hike-bachsee/

Please note, in the Jungfrau region (https://www.myswissalps.com/region/jungfrau-region/) you will find cars and driving are not allowed. Parking is restricted to Grindelwald, Lauterbrunnen and Interlaken. Getting around is via public transportation.

If I have understood correctly, are you staying in Grindelwald?  It maybe even worth investing in the Jungfrau Travel Pass.  Take a look at what it includes:

Or will you already have the Swiss Half Fare Card as you will be with a car for your trip here?  I say this, as most drivers here combine driving in Switzerland with the Swiss Half Fare Card.

    Kind regards,

    Yolanda
