Hi,

We honeymooned in Grindlewald more years ago than I care to remember :)

We are returning for 14 nights and plan on walking and sightseeing using the bus/train network in the area.

we fly in to Zurich and return same way.

What is our best option for travel from airport and the local trains /buses/gondolas etc?

I feel that half price pass is best as full pass seems v expensive and I don't mind buying tickets on the day of travel---or am I wrong in this assumption.

looking forward to your replies on what must be an often asked question!

thank you.

Simon & Fiona.

In that case the Regional-Pass Bernese Oberland might be the best option for you (but do note it's only available for 4, 6, 8 or 10 days). You may want to compare it to the Swiss Half Fare Card and 15-day Swiss Travel Pass. Do download the maps from those pages so you'll be sure about what is included. How to compare passes is explained here.

Am I correct in thinking that the Bernese Oberland pass wont cover Zurich airport to Grindlewald?

Part of the ride is included (from Bern or Lucerne onwards). You'd better download the map; that will get you all the details.
