Our itinerary for July is as follows:

Day 1 – Arrive Zurich airport – train straight to Lucerne in the morning and explore the town

Day 2 – Experience the Golden Round Trip to Mt. Pilatus

Day 3 – Take train to Interlaken in the morning (4 nights base in Interlaken) and take train to Grindelwald for FIRST

    Day 4 – To Jungfraujoch/Wengen

    Day 5 – To Schilthon/Trummelbach Waterfall/Murran

Day 6 – Boat trip on Lake Thun and visit St-Beatus Caves, is it ok if I visit Bern after?

Day 7 – Paragliding in the morning, leave Interlaken to Zermatt

    Day 8 – Zermatt/Matterhorn

Day 9 – Take Glacier Express to Chur, then take train to Innsbruck Austria

    Day 10 to 15 – Salzburg/Hallstatt/Vienna

Day 16 – Fly back to home

We just want a fun trip with some adventures and not that rush, is the itinerary good to get 8 days Swiss Travel Pass?

    Hi GG003!

Your itinerary looks well balanced and fine to me! Your planning is certainly doable. Just note that you may need some back-up plans in case bad weather prevents you from getting up in the mountains. Some options you may consider: sightseeing in Bern, Thun and Lucerne is recommended, just as the Ballenberg Open Air Museum, the Museum of Transport in Lucerne, boat rides over the lakes and the Aare gorge. Of course you can visit Bern on day 6 if you’re still up for that. Mind that you can’t actually visit the Matterhorn, but you can enjoy the views from Gornergrat or Klein Matterhorn.

Yes, an 8 day Swiss Travel Pass for day 2-9 is a wise choice. Most trips will be covered this way, as well as the Swiss portion of your outbound trip to Austria as discussed in your previous topic.
