When will the time tables for all the transportation options for 2020 be available? I’m trying to plan my itinerary and would like to see if some plans are feasible. Or are they likely just going to be exactly the same as for 2019 (late June, if that matters).

Hello WTandBeyond,
The “new” timetables are normally published on the 14th of December each year. I put new in quotation marks because normally there are only minor changes taking place, and mostly, they’re improvements/increased frequency, maybe with some minutes difference.
Hope this helps.
Best,

The current 2019 timetable commenced on 9 December 2018 and ends on 14 December 2019. The new timetable comes into effect on 15 December 2019, but the final timings will be published during October 2019 (ie soon)
The timetable change takes place every year in December, but on a different date (the new timetable always comes into force on a Sunday). For example, the 2018 timetable ran from 10 December 2017 to 8 December 2018.

The timetable changeover will take place on the 15th of December 2019.
Connections within Switzerland will be available in the timetable (http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable) from the 18th of October 2019. International timetable details will be available from mid-November 2019.Removed userParticipant72625 posts28 September 2019 at 14:22:23 #922637Hi,
I am facing a similar situation, but i am a little bit confused with the change of time table etc, and need a little help here.
I am planning to take Glacier Express on a Excellence Class from St Moriz to Zermatt on 4th Jan 2020. I will be getting a 2nd class Swiss Travel Pass and based on my understanding i would need to pay a Travel Pass upgrade (to a 1st class ticket) at CHF 56 and CHF 420 for seat reservation for Excellence Class ticket.
For not disappointing my wife in enjoining the beautiful scenic and great Excellence Class environment, i would not want to miss the date when the tickets are released for booking. Thus can anyone help me with
1) When will the ticket for i) Swiss Pass upgrading and ii) seat reservation be released for booking
2) Has the Swiss Pass released for booking for travelling period between 25 Dec to 9 Jan?

I would recommend looking at this link for the Swiss train timetables:
http://www.myswissalps.com/fo rum/topic/2020-timetables
This is also practical link while you are in Switzerland:

Here is a link for the Glacier Express:

Kmjtwinnie: you may soon book your Glacier Express for January 4th, 2020. Not yet though, as the winter timetable from mid December is not released yet. To make sure you won’t miss out you can book your Excellence Class seats via https://www.happyrail. com/en/pass/europe/swi tzerland/passholder-fares-glacier-express. Excellence Class is in the bottom of the drop down list. You can pay now, and HappyRail will issue the reservations as soon as they are available.
The Swiss Travel Pass with a start date of December 25 can already be purchased: http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/price.
I hope these links help.
Best regards,
Suzanne
