    Hi,

We are going to be in Lucerne on the 25th & 26th december.

    1) websites show that all the shops will be closed. So would like to get a clear idea, will all the shops be closed even in old town??

    2) Restaurants: are the restaurants open during these 2 days?

    3) whats the atmosphere like during these 2 days in Lucerne? is it lively or kinda silent, empty streets?

    4) what day activities would you suggest us to do during these 2 days? we also would love to spend at 1 day in the Lucerne old town area and around it…

    Thanks

    Hi Travelgood,

Yes, most shops and restaurants will be closed in Lucerne and all Swiss towns on Dec. 25 and 26. It will be very quiet. Your best bet for restaurants will be hotel restaurants mostly (a few others may be open for dinner) and some fast food options at the train station.

For activities I would look at boat cruises or the various nearby mountains which are open. For a list of activities around Lucerne click here.
