Hi friends,

Am already in Switzerland and staying with our cousins in Winterthur. Bought the 3 day swiss pass today and finished MT. Rigi thru train, boat, cogwheel train and then cable car. Now am in the ferry from wenggis to lucerne on our way back to Winterthur.

We have 2 more days for using the pass. Bu unfortunately we are free only tomorrow. Want to maximise the utility of the pass and we're thinking to do none of the special panorama rides. But we don't want to pay any seat reservation fees.

Shall really appreciate if some quick recommendations are given on tomorrow's plan. We are a family of 3. Husband wife And a 5 year old kid. We can get up early and rich the station by 7 am also.

Then other option was to go to berne but then for a short ride to berne, thought we would be wasting the pass. If we get Saturday free we can do berne.

Please recommend. Will appreciate any help. How about going upto Month Blanc influence France? Heard the journey is beautiful. But we are open to any other suggestions.

Would a trip to Grindelwald do? Is any cable car in that region included in the pass?

Request urgent advice.

Hi PPDubai,

Sorry to hear you have only one day left to use your pass. I suppose you meant to write "one of the special panorama rides"? The Mont Blanc is too far away; it takes half a day just to get there (single trip). What about the Golden Pass line from Lucerne to Interlaken to Montreux? It's a long scenic trip, so you would be using your pass extensively. Whether it's too long (at least 10 hours) is for you to decide.

Another option is a train trip to Chur and then to St. Moritz. On the way back you can travel via Sagliains and Landquart for variety. This takes 8 hours at least.

I would not recommend Grindelwald, but you could go to Mürren if you want to see the Jungfrau region. The cable cars to Mürren are free. You can include a short walk and the round trip as explained here: myswissalps.com/ hiking/gruetschalp-muerren/route.

None of the above routes requires seat reservations. I assume you have a Swiss Travel Pass. A Swiss Pass is something different.
