Hi all, I have been through the forum FAQs and also searched other queries too. I am sorry I couldn’t get a clear idea. Here is what I am a looking for recommendations.
Me and my wife, both in 30s, will arrive to Zurich (8:30 pm) from Paris via train. We will leave Zurich (by air) back on 5 February in the morning at 9 am (tickets purchased).
We are not interested in towns rather the scenes and landscapes etc. I haven’t yet booked any hotel or purchased any rail pass inside Swiss. I even can’t get a car as it requires a credit card. What would be the best itinerary to do in these 3 days with an economic budget. Your opinions and experiences are truly appreciated in advance.

Thank you for your swift response. Yes, I have been through these links. I have decided to go for either 3 or 4 days pass. The only thing bothering me is if this will be a good decision to stay at Interlaken all the 4 nights and make visits to its nearby places? Which means we will have to come back to hotel (Interlaken) each day.

Interlaken, Grindelwald or Wengen are normally the main candidates in the area. They are all really closely located and allow you to visit them all plus the mountains in the area in the time available.
Check the “What to do” tabs of each place, compare accommodation and follow your intuition is what I would recommend. Generally speaking Interlaken is for sure the largest and most city-like of the places (whereas, 6’000 inhabitants + lots of visitors)! 🙂

StephStep! I appreciate your suggestions. Just one more thing I want to know. I want to skip this Swiss pass as that becomes too expensive for me. What if I rent a car on my arrival but just wondering if driving a car makes sense? I mean the will the roads be covered with snow?

As you’re mainly exploring the area around Interlaken, the so-called Jungfrau Region, you can also look into the Jungfrau Hiking and Sledging Pass or the Regional Pass Bernese Oberland for your itinerary.

I can see that we can buy Swiss pass when we arrive to Zurich on Feb 01 but I was just wondering would be risk to buy on the day or before. I ask this because if the weather is severe, and useless to travel, then no need to buy tis pass. Is this refundable on the first day if we intend in case of unwanted situation?

At http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass/price you’ll find retailers where you get the Swiss Travel Pass via email (in 30 mins after purchasing), so no worries, you can get it one day before arriving in Switzerland.
Usually there is a cancellation fee if you want to cancel your Swiss Travel Pass and you can do that before it becomes valid (at least 1 day before).
