You might consider visiting Titlis on your way back to Zurich. Drop off your bags in a locker at Luzern station and head out to Engelberg. It will save you a roundtrip from Interlaken and back and give you another day in the Jungfrau Region where you could easily spend a week and not get to cover everything.

For other things to do in the Jungfrau Region see http://www.myswissalps.com/be rneseoberland/activiti es.

i am also thinking about glacier 3000 where i can choose the golden pass line from interlaken to montreux and then glacier 3000. so can use this excursion inspite of the zermat trip by using the additional day?

My advice would be not to overstretch yourself. You are based in Interlaken. Stay there and cover the Interlaken / Jungfrau region. It is not worth trying to squeeze in Titlis, which is a bit further away. You will see high mountains whichever place you go to, and per se all high Alpine mountains have the same characteristics (rocky and the highest ones retain snow through summer).

You can see Jungfraujoch without paying the high price to get there (you spend a lot of the time on the Jungrafubahn inside the mountain with no views) and Jungfraujoch is horribly commercialised nowadays.

Also, you should go on the Schynige Platte railway. Very historic trains, famous Alpine garden and not too commercialised at the top.

Ok.so Basically i should avoid Jungfraujoch as its highly commercialised and no point paying high price. As i will be staying interlaken from 2nd July and Checking out at 5th July and on 5th July i will be leaving for zurich.so Can you give me a proper itiernary for exploring from interlaken on 5th July while going zurich i can consider going titlis as i can keep my luggage in luzern station.i am considering to cover Harder Klum, Sclithron and walk through Murren and as per your suggestion Schynigge Plate Railway. So can you give ne an itiernary For 3 days in Interlaken and also on 4th day while going zurich i can cover the titlis part ?

Basically i should avoid Jungfraujoch as its highly commercialised and no point paying high price.

That is just one opinion. It is highly commercialised because it is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Switzerland. Have you read about it at http://www.myswissalps.com/ju ngfraujoch?

Like I said before there is lots to do in the Jungfrau Region. ONE suggested plan might look like:

    2/6 Harder Kulm

3/6 Either Jungfraujoch up via Wengen and down via Grindelwald OR omit Jungfraujoch and go Interlaken – Luaterbrunnen – Wengen – Kleine Scheidegg – Grindelwald (maybe visit First) – Winderswil – Schynigge Platte – Interlaken

4/6 Interlaken to Lauterbrunnen. From Lauterbrunnen a very nice circuit to do is to Grütschalp (cable car), Mürren (train), Gimmelwald (cable car), Stechelberg (cable car), Lauterbrunnen (bus). From Mürren you can easily visit Schiltorn (don’t miss The Thrill Walk at Birg) and even Allmendhubel if you have time. In between Stechelberg and Lauterbrunnen the bus stops at the Trummelbach Falls. Well worth a look. The entire circuit and side trips are free with the Swiss Travel Pass apart from the Allmendhubel Funicular (50% discount) and the Falls (modest entry fee). Return to Interlaken.

5/6 Interlaken – Luzern (leave luggage) – Engelberg – Titlis – Luzern (pick up luggage) – Zurich. If you arrived at Interlaken via Bern then go to Luzern via Meiringen to experience that part of the Golden Pass route (http://www.myswissalps.com/go ldenpass).

If you want more information on any of the locations mentioned just search this site.

    Hi Mohnish jain,

Nice to see you’re receiving so much helpful input here at the forum. As priorities, likes, do-able day activities are so very individual we don’t provide itineraries here at MySwissAlps I’m afraid. But I’m sure you will find the perfect itinerary for you in Interlaken.
    http://www.myswissalps.com/in terlaken/activities

For a suggestion of a roundtrip in the area for one day check:
    http://www.myswissalps.com/on edayjungfrauregion

I also believe that such incredibly popular destinations, wherever they are in the world, are normally not so popular for no reason, meaning they are popular because they are unique!!! One has to decide for oneself what’s attractive.
    http://www.myswissalps.com/ju ngfraujoch

For sure you can keep your luggage at Lucerne train station and head to Mount Titlis on your way to Zurich.

To see about travelling times and connections use our timetable, a very helpful tool for planning. It makes sense reading how to use it first.

Happy planning. Get back to us for any further support needed.

    Hi Mohnish jain,

Looks like a good plan! Now hope for good weather! As for July 5: please check the travel times via the timetable link that Steph gave you, and count on at least two hours on top of Mount Titlis.

I would say you will already have a pretty busy day. Have a look at the Chapel Bridge an the old town in Luzern on your way through and also wander around the old town in Zurich. I don’t know what other things would interest you AND that you would have time to fit in.

ps I have never been to Zurich.

    Hi Mohnish,

You can have a look at what to do in Zurich here: http://www.myswissalps.com/zu rich

I would say, if you have a bit of time, wander around the old town, have dinner there and then take a stroll along the lake. All very close to the hauptbahnhof anyway.

    Have a wonderful trip!

    Maria.
