I will arrive to Interlaken on Friday September the 29th at 11:00am, and will spend 3 days in the Jungfrau region, as follows:

Friday-Interlaken and Itselwald. After lunch, going to Harder Kulm and at 4:30pm take the boat to Itselwald. After dinner, return to Interlaken by boat or bus. Walk through the town.

Saturday- Jungfraujoch, Grindelwald and Gindelwald First Cliff.

At 8:30am train to Wilderward Terminal (right side of the train). Take Eiger Express to Eigergletscher, and then the Cogwheel to Jungfraujoch.

At 2:30pm, return to Grindelwald and go to First Cliff. Then return to Grindelwald and have dinner at Belvedere or Onkel Tom's Hutte. Will they be open after 6pm? Any recommendations on this day?

Sunday- Lauterbrunnen, Murren, Schilthorn

At 7:30am, Take train to Lauterbrunnen. Visit Staubbach Waterfall (Staubbach Hutte, inside the cave, and behind waterfall), and enjoy all the waterfalls. Then take cable car to Murren, and change in Grutschalp to train to Murren (left side). Walk to Murren Schilthorn Car and take the cable car. After Schilthorn, visit Murren, and return to Interlaken. (Any recommendations?)

On Monday October 1st-

7:34am- Train Interlaken to Brig, via Spiez, arriving at 8:41am. / 9:11am Glacier Express from Big to Chur, arriving at 1:25pm / 1:34pm Bernina Express from Chur to Tirano. (There are 9 minutes to change from Glacier Express to Bernina Express. What platform do the Glacier Express arrives, and from what platform do the Bernina Express departs?)

I will appreciate your comments/recommendations. Thank you,

Saulo Ventura

Hi Sventura84,

Thanks for sharing your itinerary.

Your plans are doable. You can use the SBB timetable to check all transportation schedules. Be sure to get the names correct in order to get accurate information. To get to Jungfraujoch via Eigergletscher, take a train to Grindelwald Terminal. You can find further details here: www.myswissalps.com/jungfraujoch/gettingthere. Onkel Tom's Hut is open from lunchtime till late. You can check the opening hours here: www.onkel-toms.ch/en/contact_directions

According to the timetable, the Glacier Express from Brig arrives in Chur on Platform 13. The Bernina Express from Chur to Tirano leaves from Platform 10. It's a just a short walk to switch platforms, should not take longer than 9 minutes even with luggage.

Let us know if you need further info.

Regards,

Anna

Hi Sventura84,

On Friday, you may want to consider the reverse. This will give you more time to visit Iseltwald and take your time. You can enjoy the boat both ways should you desire, and maybe stop at Brienz? Maybe even see the Brienz Rothorn? Perhaps train to Brienz, see the Rothorn, and boat back stopping at Iseltwald. Just some possibilities available. This way, you can see Harder Kulm afterward, as it is open later than some of the boats. I was there (Harder Kulm) two nights ago after spending the day at Schilthorn and Murren. I went with the sole intent of having a nice relaxing dinner after a long day on the mountain. As it turns out, I was able to see a nice sunset too.

You obviously have done some research on the trains and such. I assume you are you aware, though, that you will be spending a whole entire day on the trains? 5 hrs from Brig to Chur, then 5 hrs from Chur to Tirano. That's on top of the 1.5 or so hrs from Interlaken/Ost. Are you sure you don't want to spend a night along the way? Perhaps in Chur? Your choice, obviously, but that is a lot of train time. Just something to think about. Have a great trip.

Regards,

Danielsan
