Hi,
My hubby & I are looking into a 12 night trip to Switzerland (9/5-9/18), and was hoping I could get some opinions on the hotels we are looking at. I’m looking for 3*+ with breakfast, and a hotel with a view in Wengen.
Luzern - 3 nights - Either Ameron Hotel Flora or Hotel Central Luzern
Wengen -5 nights - Either Hotel Silberhorn or Sunstar Hotel
Montreux - 3 nights - Grand Hotel Suisse Majestic (we have enough Marriott points for 2 nights) or ?
Zurich - 1 night - deciding between being near the train station with Hotel St. Gotthard or in Old Town with either Best Western (MAY have enough points but not 100% sure) or Hotel Alexander
Thank you,
Hi Navymom,
both of the Lucerne hotels have good reviews and similar good location and as I have seen they are almost for the same price. I think I would choose the Hotel Central Luzern as the breakfast is already included in the price.
These hotels in Wengen are quite similar too, they both have good reviews. Rooms in Hotel Silberhorn look better for me but Sunstar Hotel seems to be a bit cheaper and has slightly better reviews.
Your Montreux choice is great and even better if you have loyalty points for 2 nights. It has an amazing location very close to the promenade.
And for the last, in Zurich I would prefer Hotel Alexander Zurich Old Town from above those, as it has better reviews and a very good location. But if you have enough loyalty points for the Best Western than it would be a reasonable choice too and it has a good location too.
Some forum members like Hotel Adler and Hotel Montana in Zurich. You might want to check those too.
In case you still want to search for other accommodation opportunities (or for other readers of this post):

Thank you for the recommendations, I’ll look into them.
We stayed at the Maya Caprice which has GREAT views from all the rooms. (well almost all) Right in town and by the train station. Right by the COOP market as well.
See attachment for the view from our room
