We will be in Switzerland on 10 Nov 2020 for 30 days, after so many days & hours of research I’m getting more confusing about the train systems and passes 🙁 so any adv is appreciated.
we are family of 3 ( a couple & 1 small doggy.) Would like to know what should I get 15 days (x 2) flexi or consecutive pass to cover below places? And what other passes/ticket do I need to pay?
1. Zurich to Lucern after touched down. (5 nights)
-Mt Pilatus , Old Town, Lake Lucerne cruise, Mt Rigi & Engelberg
2.Grindelwald , Iseltwald Lauterbrunnen, Wengen, Murren, First , Jungfraujoch (8 nights)
3. Zermatt, Gornergrat & Matterhorn (3-4nights) ### would like to know which train offer better scenery along the way to Zermatt?
4. Montreux, Lausanne & Geneva (3-4 nights)
5. Bern & Basel (3 nights)
6.) Zurich (2 + 1 night)
7.) St Moritz (3 nights) Would love to travel BEX .

OK, so if you have tried doing the math according to instructions you got on your earlier thread then you probably have arrived at a few options:
- 2 x 15-day Swiss Travel Passes
- 1 x 15-day Swiss Travel Pass Flex + Swiss Half-fare Card
- Swiss Half-fare Card only
The above options are ranked in decreasing levels of convenience. How they rank in terms of overall costs is impossible to figure out without doing the math based on your detailed itinerary.
Don’t be put off by the need to buy tickets as you go with the Swiss Half-fare Card. It is quite easy, especially if you have the SBB mobile app. On many mountain excursions the Swiss Half-fare Card discount is the same (or in the case of Jungfraujoch) better than the Swiss Travel Pass.

From Lucerne to Zermatt try to avoid the Lötschberg-Basistunnel for a longer but also more scenic route. Use Kandersteg and Brig as via-stations in the timetable: http://www.myswissalps.com/timetable.

It’s a small breed dog (Yorkshire Terrier) and yes I did some researched … it travels for free so Long I put it in a carrier. However, I could not find any info if I have to pay if he is traveling in a prams 😂

traveling in pram – this is a difficult question. Their website says: “Small dogs with a wither height of up to 30 cm in transport boxes can travel with you free of charge as carriage hand luggage provided they are in a carrier, basket or other suitable container. ”

“You should store your pram in the compartments provided so as not to block the passage of other passengers. You do not pay extra for the pram.
Dogs of any size travelling in passenger carriages or luggage vans must always pay second-class half fare or the stipulated minimum fare (1-day travelpass for dogs, GA travelcard for dogs) if there is one.
Exception: Small dogs with a wither height of up to 30 cm in transport boxes can travel with you free of charge as carriage hand luggage provided they are in a carrier, basket or other suitable container.
Dogs can only be put on seats when in suitable carriers. You must buy a half price 2nd class ticket for each seat occupied in this way.”
