    Hi,

We are reaching tomorrow Basel, I need an urgent help with planning a trip for 4 days in Switzerland. We are arriving Basel by the flight around 15:00. We planned to stay one day in Basel then moved to Laussane next day and stay there for 3 other nights or moved to Laussane on the first day itself after seeing a Basel. Could you please recommend what will be the three days good itinerary to see Switzerland from Laussane? The interested destinations that I am planning to cover are one day Interlaken (golden pass), mt.Titlis or Matterhorn, glacier express or mt. Rigi.

    Thanks,

    Astha

Hi Astha and welcome to MySwissAlps!

Is there a particular reason why you are staying in Lausanne? None of those mountains or train trips you mention are close to Lausanne and will require a lot of travel every day (except perhaps the Golden Pass line).

Instead, I would base yourself in Lucerne if possible as it is closest to most of your destinations (as you travel tomorrow though I assume your accommodation is booked).

To plan your trips from Lausanne to any mountain or town in Switzerland you can use the Swiss railways timetable here.

If you decide some of those mountains and train trips are too far for you to travel to from Lausanne and want suggestions for what to do closer to Lausanne click here and click here for information on the Lake Geneva region.

    Hi,

Thanks Lucas for the fast reply. I have a friend in Laussane.

I was going through forum reviews and recommendation. Could you please check if it’s feasible a day trip to Lucern and cover Mt. Pilatus and back to Laussane. Then second-day interlaken (golden senic train). Third day, going to Zermatt?

    Hi,

Those trips are possible, but some days will be quite long on the train. Use the Swiss railways timetable in my last post to find the train schedules to help you decide if you want to make those trips.
