I am considering purchasing a 3 day flex travel pass. I am wondering if the 50% discount on boats, cog trains, etc count as a travel day. For instance, if we arrive in Lucern by train using the 3rd day of our pass and the next day we want to go to Mt. Pilatus does the 50% discount still apply or would we need to go directly to Pilatus upon our arrival in Lucern to use the discount?

Hi Barbabley and welcome to MySwissAlps!

If you use the Swiss Travel Pass Flex to get on any bus, train, cogwheel, boat etc it counts as one of your days) they check your pass an ensure you validate it for that day – otherwise you would pay for a full fare ticket.

So in your case you have 3 days of use. You can’t get a discount to Mt. Pilatus if the Swiss Travel Pass Flex has already been used on 3 days. Be sure you pick the 3 days of your trip that are the most expensive in terms of train and boat tickets etc. to use the STP Flex on.
