Our Trip to Switzerland would never been easy without www.myswissalps.com.

Thanks Slowpoke for such a detailed reply and helping us to Built up our Itinerary. I would also like to Thank Arno, Annika & Lucas for this great Website.

Here is our Trip Report – Part -1

Trip Details: We spent 7 Days in the Switzerland visiting Mountains and Cities.

Luzern 4 Days (Mt. Titlis, Mt. Rigi & Luzern City),

Stechelberg 2 Days (Interlaken, Murren, Lauterbrunnen & Bern)

Geneva City 1 Day

Visit Plan: Day Tours, Sightseeing, Independent Travel, Tell Pass (Luzern) & Swiss Travel Pass (3 Days); two People, Hotels/B&Bs.

06-Mar-17: We reached at Zurich Airport in the evening around 19:30. Went through all the formalities about Passport check, Baggage Collection and followed the Signs towards the Information Center. Inquired about the Luzern Tickets and Maps for different regions at the Information Center. They also helped us to get the Tickets for Luzern.

We reached Luzern Station and proceeded for Hotel. It was our first day in Switzerland so it took some time for us to understand the Transport System.

Hotel: Ibis Budget Luzern

Weather: Drizzling Rain and Cold

07-Mar-17: As per our itinerary, on this day we have planned to Visit Mount Titlis. In the morning we checked the weather and found that, it would not be good to go up to the Titlis. Hence, we changed our Plans and headed to Rigi.

Boat trip from Lucerne to Vitznau – Amazing Boat ride to start our Trip, Nice Green meadows and Mountains.

From Vitznau, Changed to the cogwheel train to Rigi Kulm. Cogwheel trains are really Engineering Miracle. From Vitznau, Views changed to Snow Mountains and Lake Luzern on other Side.

Reached at the Top, It was First Snow Fall for us. Spent half an hour at the top and boarded cogwheel train down to Arth-Goldau and changed to the regular train to Lucerne.

Weather: Snow Fall

08-Mar-17: Today weather was great to Visit to Mount Titlis. We proceed to Engelberg – Mt. Titlis. Gondolas, Rotair, Ice-Flyer, Cliff Walk & Snow, Wow, Everything was just Picture perfect. We do not have words to explain, How it felt at Titlis. We spent around 2 Hours at the top and proceed back to Luzern. Later we Visited Kappelbrucke Wooden Bridge in Luzern City.

Weather: Clear with Sunshine

09-Mar-17: In the morning, We boarded the Bus to Kriens. Weather was overcast so we did not expect much on this day. Rainy atmosphere has its own benefits. From the Bus, we started walking towards Pilatus Cable car clicking Pictures and enjoying surroundings. It took an hour to reach at the cable car. To our Bad Luck, Cable Car was close due to weather conditions. Again, Proceed back to Luzern City.

We had enough time to roam around the City and on this rainy day again had a Boat Trip to Vitznau and Return to Luzern.

Weather: Overcast and Rainy

Pic-1: Rigi Mountain from Vitznau Station

Pic-2: Lake Luzern view from Cogwheel Train

Pic-3: On the way to Engelberg

Pic-4: Mount Titlis

Pic-5: Way to Mount Pilatus

Great trip report and pics, thanks for the report vjvinit and we are happy we helped with your trip planning!

Glad you were checking weather before departures to make for the best trip on each day!

It is good to note that perhaps one should check ahead about that cable car from Kriens with poor weather - I am sure this report will help future visitors!

All the best,

Thanks Lucas,

Also want to add one Point about Weather.

Our Hotel Desk informed us that, They are getting email everyday about Operating Facilities at Titlis, Rigi and Pilatus. Those emails also helped us.

Therefore, at the Start of the day one should check Weather and Emails to get clear idea about Facilities.

Hi vjvinit,

Thanks for your great trip report and photos.

Bad luck about Pilatus :( However, you clearly had a great trip, despite the weather.
