As per my knowledge, 8 days Swiss travel pass ends at 05.00 am on the 9th day, does that mean I need to end my 9th day journey at 5 am or start my journey before 5 am.

It means end your journeys before 5am, in practice that means ending your journeys the previous evening
That means i’ll have to buy Lucerne to Zurich airport ticket as my flight departs at 9.45 AM on the 9th day.

For a morning flight on day 9, I suggest that at the end of day 8, check in at a hotel near the airport (Lucerne to Zurich trains runs until late in the evening). Look for airport hotels with late evening/early morning shuttle service or stay at Radisson Blu which is right at the airport. When you check out on day 8 in Lucerne, most hotels will allow luggage storage while you finish up activities for the day. If you’d rather stay at your Lucerne hotel through the night of day 8, full fare one-way train ticket to Zurich airport is around 30 CHF per person. I hope this helps. Take care.

Thanks for the help, however Day 8 checkout will be on the day 9 at 10 am, which won’t serve my purpose as I need to catch my flight on day 9 at 9.30 am, so have to stay at Luzern & depart early morning, approx 5.00 AM
