We will be reaching Switzerland tomorrow for a 8 days . We are landing in Zurich by 7 am. Then by train we are going to Lucerne I have some queries , anyone of the forum members please help

    1. Can I get my swiss travel card from the airport

    2. Once you get swiss travel pass do you need to reserve for seats

    3. Will there be luggage space for big suitcases in train compartment

    4. Is the Lucerne bus station nearby to Lucerne main railway station. Or is it okay I wait in the nearby bus stop for the bus towards Kriens Mattenhof

    5. Will they allow big 3 suitcases inside the buses.

    Zuhail

    Hi Zuhail,

    1. Yes, you can, But you can do it online in advance too, to save time at the airport: https://www.happyrail. com/en/pass/europe/swi tzerland/swiss-travel-pass-consecutive, you get the e.tickets in 30 minutes, you just need to print it (http://www.myswissalps.com/sw isstravelpass/howtouse).

    2. You do not need seat reservations for 99% of all trains and buses in Switzerland. You can simply board with your Swiss Travel Pass. Exceptions are some international trains and some panoramic trains like the Glacier Express and Bernina Express. If you need, or want, seat reservations, you need to arrange for them separately. Seat reservations are not included in the pass.

    3. Yes. See http://www.myswissalps.com/tr ain/practical/luggage.

    4. If you wish to go to Kriens Mattenhof, you can do that by train, so there is no need to take a bus.

    5. I think yes, but as I wrote, you do not need the bus, take a train. See the timetable at http://www.myswissalps.com/ti metable

Safe flight and have a great holiday!

    Hi,
Thanks a lot for your express reply. My hotel advised me to take bus from Lucerne. That’s why I enquired about the bus.
I appreciate your valuable opinion further in my trip..

I see, the bus station will be next of the train station, you just need to cross the street. It is also free with the Swiss Travel Pass.
