Hi. We are a family from Bali visiting Switzerland. We will be going from Geneva to Zermatt (4 days) and then on to Bern and Lucerne/Zurich. I want to show my family the beauty of travel by rail in Swizterland. Which rail pass or swiss travel pass is best for us (family of four) for those routes? Is there a one pass option as well. Sadly, we will only be in Switzerland for 9 days!!! Thanks so much for your recommendations! If you need any recommendations about visiting Bali or Indonesia in general please ask! Best Matthew

    Hi Matthew,

    Welcome to MySwissAlps.

Generally, a Swiss Travel Pass provides the best coverage if you’re planning to travel to multiple regions in Switzerland. The Swiss Travel Pass provides free unlimited travelling on all Swiss public transport (trains, trams, boats, bus), and discounted travel on most mountain transportation (such as cogwheel trains, cable cars and gondolas). If you are travelling as a family, you can request for a Swiss Family Card which allows children aged 6-15 to travel along for free (children 0-5 travel free).

You can find more information about the Swiss Travel Pass here: http://www.myswissalps.com/swisstravelpass.

There is currently a spring promotion on the Swiss Travel Pass: http://www.myswissalps.com/forum/topic/the-swiss-travel-pass-spring-2023-promotion

    Hope this gets you started.

    Regards,

    Anna
