    Hi Anjanb,

Did you check the suggestions on our Zermatt and Interlaken pages?

Those pages list hotels in all prices ranges. If you can’t find anything there, then please share you exact travel dates for both towns. We’ll be glad to do a check for you then.

I have checked it. But unable to judge how far are these accomoations from station and suitable for senior citizens.

If anyone could guide us to shortlist based on their own experience or feedback,we shall be highly obliged.

    Hi Anjanb,

Those pages explain exactly how much time it takes to the rail station and which mode of transport (usually only a few minutes on foot). Also if you click on the link of each hotel you can find a map.

Your budget is a bit tight for these towns. If you can increase it a bit then this would be a perfect option for Zermatt: https://www.hotelscomb ined.com/Hotel/Hotel_T esta_Grigia.htm. I can’t remember any hotel in Switzerland without an elevator, that’s pretty much standard. But you can ask them to be sure. You may also want to take a look at this one: https://www.hotelscomb ined.com/Hotel/Hotel_P hoenix_Zermatt.htm (a bit farther from the station but still easy to walk).

    Hi Anjanb,

I suggest you check the links that Arno gave you to find hotels near Interlaken Ost Railway Station.

    http://www.myswissalps.com/ze rmatt/hotels

    http://www.myswissalps.com/in terlaken/hotels

I usually log on to an accommodation website ie Booking.com and click of the map of the area to see where hotels are in relation to the railway station/centre of village. I then go on google maps and put in the name of the station and the hotel to work out the walking distance and route. I usually book direct with the hotel when I have worked out where we want to stay.

    Hope this of help.

    Jane

    Hi AnjanB,

For Interlaken I’d look at https://www.hotelscomb ined.com/Hotel/The_Hot el_Restaurant_Aarburg. htm and https://www.hotelscomb ined.com/Hotel/Hotel_B eausite.htm. Both are also listed on the pages that Jane mentioned. You’ll find walking times to the train station there.

These will be a bit above budget too. There are cheaper options in Interlaken, but often these are hostels or budget hotels with shared bathrooms.

We just stayed in Welcome Hotel Tasch – reasonably priced good breakfast included- cost 110 chf- 5 minutes flat walk to railway station to Zermatt shuttle- free with rail pass – we found it ok for 1 night. They had lifts and I think they may offer Taxi service at a price. Enjoy! We had a wonderful day to Gornergrat and they let us leave cases for the day
