Hi everyone. We are a family of 5 that wants to visit Switzerland 10-14 days visit. We are thinking about visiting Interlaken/Jungfraujoch, Mount Titlis, Lauterbrunnen, Schilthorn, Harder Kulm, Zermatt/ glacier express, Lugano, Bern, Lucerne/ Stanserhorn, Zurich, The Rhine falls, Montreux, Chillon castle??, Lake Geneva?? Vorderrhein Gorge, or Swiss Grand Canyon?

Any advice on best rute/order of visit? best places to have a base so we dont have to carry luggage all the time. Any advice are great.

Hi Rafal and Welcome to MySwissAlps,

Nice to hear you and your family are coming along to Switzerland. Some really nice places you've chosen to include in your stay.

How many bases are you considering during your stay? Only one or up to how many? And do you know where you'll be arriving to/departing from?
The more details you provide about your plans, incl. above information, time of the year you're coming, interests, etc. the more detailed we can provide input.

To get an idea of how long journeys for day trip and/or moving days are use the timetable below, a fabulous tool for planning, make sure you read how it works:

You will find helpful input on most of your destinations by typing them into the search bar of our page.

Best,

Hi Steph

Thanx for your replay. We are thinking about 2 or 3 bases. We arrive in the middle of July. We arrive in Zurich and leave from there also

Lugano might be a bit tricky to fit into this itinerary, but if you're fine with the times you find with the timetable you can of course consider adding it to your plans, no problem.

Hope this helps setting up your itinerary.

Steph has given very nice suggestions about base cities. Luzern, Interlaken and montreux are very nice base cities. If you do not have very late arrival or early departure, you can do a day trip to zurich. Day to lugano from luzern should be doable but will be a long day. Pl buy 15 days swiss pass which will be very convenient. I have shared my experience on my travel blog chetantravel.wordpress .com and you may read for some insights

Wish you have a wonderful and enjoyable trip
