Hi, I plan to spend 7 or 8 days in Switzerland before going to Italy. Tentative plan:

Day 0 (31 Aug): Arrive Zurich airport 2020hr. Take train to Lucerne. Spend the night in Lucerne.

Day 1 (1 Sep) Explore Lucerne. Visit Mount Titlis. Spend the night in Lucerne.

Day 2 (2 Sep) Train to Grindelwald. Explore Grindelwald. Spend the night in Grindelwald.

Day 3 (3 Sep) Visit Jungfraujoch. Spend the night in Grindelwald.

Day 4 (4 Sep) Grindelwald to Geneva. Explore Geneva. Spend the night in Geneva.

Day 5 (5 Sep) Explore Geneva. Spend the night in Geneva.

Day 6 (6 Sep) Leave for Zermatt. Explore Zermatt. Spend the night in Zermatt.

Day 7 (7 Sep) Visit Matterhorn. Spend the night in Zermatt.

Day 8 (8 Sep) Leave for Milan.

Wondering if I could add other interesting place in my Switzerland intinerary.

It really depends on what you want to see or do in the towns you visit. One example I would suggest is to replace Geneva with Montreux. https://www.myswissalp s.com/montreux

I don’t think you have much time to visit other towns. What you have planned now will keep you busy with doing and seeing a lot. 🙂

Hi Lucas, is it wise to replace Geneva with Lauterbrunnen and make Lauterbrunnen as my base for 2 nights after Geindelwald before moving to Zermatt?

Well it really depends on what area you want to spend time in. Near Lake Geneva or in the Jungfrau region.

Lauterbrunnen and Grindelwald are quite close to each other.

Geneva is quite out of the way when going to Zermatt from Grindelwald. Montreux is a nice detour but you could also just stay longer in the Jungfrau region if you think you’d prefer it. https://www.myswissalp s.com/jungfrauregion
