Hi Mary! Could you please let us know which suspension bridge you’re talking about? Is it the one between Belalp and Riederalp? It should be open from June to October, but in case of unexpected/heavy snowfall the hiking route, including the bridge, might be closed earlier.

I am just starting learning about the alestsch glacier and arena area. So gorgeous. So ephemeral. Climate change!!
any bridge would be great. Ideas on how to beat get there from Saas grund? Any ideas at all welcome. Would love to hike for 3 hours or so. More if we can. Take a lunch and picnic? Cable car cost? Love this forum. Thank you.

Hi Mary. You’ll have to reach Blatten, then Belalp, hike over to Riederalp and return to Saas-Fee. The timetable allows you to plan your trip in detail: myswissalps.com/timeta ble. The timetable provides fares as well. Other than that, you can check fares using the link under “More information” at myswissalps.com/eggish orn/tickets.
If you’re interested in other suspension bridges, then take a look at the Skywalk bridge (also known as the Charles Kuonen bridge) near Zermatt/Randa too.

Love you guys! Thanks so much!
I would like to visit Zermatt but not the town center. Any other ideas out there for biking and hiking?
