    Hi everyone,

I am currently holding a Eurail global pass. I understand that there is no discount in the railway fare for eurail holder. is there any alternative to get discounted railway ticket WITHOUT having the SWISS travel pass/ SWISS half fare card?

I found a list of reductions on gornergrat bahn official website, check out the link below., or the attachment.

    Source: http://www.gornergratbahn.ch/ en/summer/railway-information/general-informations/

What does it mean by half fare card/railcard (2nd row of the table, under general abonnement)? From my understanding, it’s different from the swiss half fare card/swiss travel pass since they are mentioned in the 5th and 6th row respectively?

    Thank you.

    Hello and welcome to MySwissAlps

Afraid you’re out of luck Rayson. The GA is for Swiss residents and costs an arm and a leg. The is no pass that is going to cost-effectively get you a discount on Gornergrat. Now if you were doing several mountain excursions around Switzerland the Swiss Half Fare Card starts to become a real proposition.
