Any restrictions on use of Swiss Travel Pass?

I have just bought an 8-day Swiss Travel Pass for use in August. A friend has told me of an experience with a Eurail pass – he went to catch a train from somewhere in northern France into Belgium, but was told that the Eurail pass quota for that train was full and he couldn’t use his Eurail pass on that route until the following week. Is it possible that a similar situation could occur with my Swiss Travel Pass?

    Hi johnhalf,

That won’t happen with a Swiss Travel Pass. Trains don’t book out in Switzerland, except for the few tourist trains that require a reservation. The reservation is not related to the pass or ticket; anyone with any pass can reserve a seat.

    Thanks Arno.
