My parents are staying in Como for 3 nights and want to make a day trip to lugano. What would be the best tickets for traveling and taking a boat ride.

For a day trip from Como to Lugano you’d be looking at trains from Italy: http://www.myswissalps.com/tr aintickets/italy

The Arcobaleno card is for local travel in Ticino, which would probably make it easier for your parents once they are there: http://www.arcobaleno.ch/en/b iglietti/carta-giornaliera

However it does not fully cover boats so if they’re planning that, a return ticket from the link above plus a boat ticket might be best 🙂

I haven’t compared it to the boat price list but the Saver Day Pass (http://www.myswissalps.com/sa verdaypass and bit.ly/2rkekat) will cover just about all travel in Ticino including the Lugano boats.
