we are considering Zermatt- St Moritz on the Glacier Express as part of a longer trip. Is there space for a standard luggage piece and small backpack for each traveler? And is it possible to send luggage ahead a day or two prior to departing Zermatt?

Hi ladera and Welcome to MySwissAlps,

My wife and I (both seniors) did the trip on the Glacier Express from Brig to Chur in late May last year. We had no trouble carrying a suitcase and a backpack each on that or any other of the Swiss trains we used over a 20 day tour.

If you are boarding at Zermatt and going through to St Moritz it will be even easier. We boarded an almost full train at Brig.

There is a forwarding service which we had intended to use but after discovering how easy it was to take luggage with us decided against it.
