Hi,

I am arriving at Basel airport late on a Friday and then planning to take the train to Zermatt the following day. Will my Transfer ticket cover travel from the airport to Basel city given that this will be the day before the rest of my journey?

Thanks.

Hi NS34T and welcome to MySwissAlps!

You would need to choose the date that the Swiss Transfer Ticket is valid for. So you should just buy a ticket from the airport to Basel (about 7chf).

If you can get a Saver Day Pass (www.myswissalps.com/on edaytravelpass/details) for the best price of CHF52 that will work out a bit cheaper that the Swiss Transfer Ticket. It also has the advantage of enabling you to take the more scenic route to Zermatt via Kandersteg. With the STT you are constrained to following the fastest route offered by the Swiss Train Timetable (www.myswissalps.com/ti metable).

Having said that we don't know what the rest of your plans in Switzerland are so perhaps a different pass is more appropriate to your needs.

Hi Rockoyster,

In this specific case the Swiss Transfer Ticket allows traveling via Kandersteg as well, as that route is not more expensive (same price actually): www.myswissalps.com/sw isstransferticket/howt ouse.

Hi NS34T,

Your transfer from the airport to Basel will be free if your hotel offers free public transport with your reservation: www.myswissalps.com/ba sel/travel.
