    Greetings!

I will be heading to Paris from Basel train station and while I’m booking the tickets, I realised that there is actually Basel(SBB) and Basel(CH). Is this 2 stations the same? If it’s not is it nearby? And how will I be able to differentiate?

    Hi Jerms,

The trains depart from the main station, which is called Basel SBB. Basel (CH) is the same thing; CH is the abbreviation for Switzerland.

    You’ll find booking websites here: http://www.myswissalps.com/tr aintickets/france/pric e.

    Enjoy the trip!

Basel’s main station is known as Basel SBB

SBB = Schweizerische Bundesbahnen = Swiss Federal Railways

CH = Confoederatio Helvetica (which is Latin) = Swiss Confederation

If you see Basel (CH) it is probably just a geographical reference rather than the name of the railway station, so you might equally see Paris (F)
