My wife and I plan to spend a 8 days in Lauterbrunnen in late May and wanted advice on the best rail pass option. I was thinking of the 2 for 1 Swiss Flexi Pass for 4 days. I would use two free days on the travel to and from Zurich and the other two on trips to Meringen and Kandersteg. Then use the 50% discount on the other days to use the Berner Oberland trains, buses and lifts. Is this a good plan or should I consider a 3/4 day Berner Oberland Regional Pass?

    Hello rexhoffmann,

I would say the 2-for-1 offer suits your plans. The regional pass does not include trips to and from Zurich (only part of it) and is a lot more expensive than the special offer. It would only make sense if you’re planning to spend many hours in expensive lifts and mountain trains, as you could use the free travel days of the regional pass for that.

    Does this help you out?
